  Why Zope 3?
by: Jim Fulton

The first production version of Zope 3 was released on November 7. This was a major milestone in the Zope 3 project. Many people are probably wondering what Zope 3 means to them, if they should start using it, and why. In this article, I'll try to answer these questions or, at the least, to provide sufficient information to help people answer these questions for themselves. by Jim Fulton
 Localization (Part II of II)
by: Milos Prudek

Localization is one of the most underestimated undertakings in software design. If your application has not been designed for localization from its inception, there will be tons of tedious modifications to be made. Whether you start from scratch or need to reengineer your old application for multilingual support, the first part of our localization series will provide the essential linguistic background.

CPSTypeMaker Visual edition of document types
by: Tarek Ziadé

One of the most important aspect in a web content managment system is the way document types are defined. The definition system has to be simple and efficient. Type creators want to easily combine widgets, wich are the atom of a document (text area, labels, etc.) to present informations. Tools like Archetypes and CPSSchemas bring these features to the developer through a new hi-level definition language that generates documents. But this also brings a new skill to learn for developers and does not help a lot non-developers. Like WYSIWYG HTML Editors does, a document type system should bring a visual tool used to generate definitions.
That's what CPSTypeMaker is : a visual programming tool used to automatically create document type on a CPS portal.
First, this article presents how CPSSchemas works and how it is used in CPSDocument, then it presents CPSTypeMaker and its uses.
Last but not least, the article will focus on how the system can be extended thru widget programming.
