Interview with Chris McDonough
by: ZopeMag Staff
In this Issue we chat with Chris McDonough. To say that he helps maintain the Zope Book and other Zope documentation is an understatement. Without Chris' work the Zope Book and Zope Developers Guide would not be the valuable documentation resources that everyone in the community depends on while achieving some "Zope Zen".

Converting the State of Hawaii Governor’s Website to Plone
by: Jonagustine Lim
Plone is probably one of the most sophisticated systems developed for Zope, powerful yet flexible enough to be customized to look like any other Website.
Prior to the switch to Plone, the State of Hawaii Office of the Governor’s Website required a Macromedia Dreamweaver Web developer to update their Website content.
After adopting the Plone CMS, several non-technical staff members now keep the site updated using nothing but their Web browser.

Zope and SOAP
by: Kristoph Kirchner
SOAP enables developers using different programming languages to write
programs that interact with each other, despite the difference in data types
and structures. It is an XML-based protocol that defines the standards
for encoding the messages that are sent between a webservice and a
client.
This article describes how to create your own webservice and how to
make use of existing webservices, i.e. how to send data to and receive
data from a webservice. This is shown using the Zolera SOAP Infrastructure
(ZSI), a Python package that provides an implementation of SOAP messaging.

Building a New UI For Zope 3 - Zope Skins (Part III of III)
by: Paul Everitt
Zope 3 provides a new facility called skins for adding user interfaces to Zope applications. Skins are based on ideas from the CMF. Part I of the series looked at Rotterdam, the default skin for Zope 3 itself. In this second installment, we begin the process of building a custom user interface for Zope 3.
